Both can be used to solve stress, anxiety and panic disorders. Today I am going to discuss the impact of digg (yes, the wonderful web 2.0 site) and it’s role in stress management and relief. Can social websites like digg solve real mental health problems of real people? Some people might not see the connection readily, but it’s very much there. I will also briefly explain some digg strategies to manage stress. I will leave the specific techniques and strategies for another post. In this post I will just touch upon the broad connection between digg and stress relief. Here it is:
Digg is social and anything social is known to help stress conditions. Culturally we are much more isolated than what we were 20 years ago. Family support system has been eroded and so are other important social elements. A refreshing and welcome change is happening with web 2.0 technology that is enabling people to ‘connect’ once more. Digg is at the forefront of this technology along with other leading players in this arena.
The factors that enable digg to be used as an effective stress management tool are:
1. Digg enables people to connect to others in very meaningful ways.2. Digg helps us to understand others as never before.
3. Digg allows us to see problems from other viewpoints.
4. Digg permits us to see what has worked for others in similar situations.
The specific techniques that can be used within digg will be matter for another post. That post will discuss these four points from the ‘techniques’ angle.
Till then good bye.
